Dear Members,

My apologies for not having addressed you prior to this letter. I sincerely hope that everyone is doing well and practicing the new normal of social distancing.

Due to current state restrictions in place, we have had to cancel several planned events on our social schedule. Currently we are deleting everything between now and the first of July. Hopefully, this will provide enough time for the quarantine to be lifted enabling us to complete our social calendar and plan some other events to hold as fund raisers.

As I am sure you are aware, our building needs a new roof. We have been scheduled to receive a metal replacement roof and this will take place in May. Due to the extreme slope and height of our building, rental of a lift had to be made, hence the reason for delay.

This cost will be extreme, and we would appreciate your support by renewing or joining our organization. A membership form is available online and a link through the town websites of both Bristol and South Bristol will take you directly to our website. If you prefer to have a paper copy mailed to you, we would be happy to do so. You are welcome to call me at:

585-229-5940.

I would suggest you visit our website or Facebook page to keep abreast of updated calendar or other social activities. Our PR director, Denise Van Deroef, is current in postings, and we appreciate all that she does for our organization.

Our building will soon have a “Blessings Box” where you may drop off or pick up items that are donated. This project is the idea of Beth Thomas, Historian of Bristol and So. Bristol and also one of our board members. Our thanks to Beth.

Thank you for your continued support of the historical society, your donation of membership makes it possible for us to continue to preserve our local history.

Ann Jacobs, President
